Park the barn

In the heart of Geneva, during his daily walk in Parc La Grande on September 2, 1937, Pierre de Coubertin suddenly passed away. He now rests in the Bois-de-Vaux cemetery in Lausanne.

Although Coubertin is buried in Lausanne, his heart, according to his wishes, is preserved in a stele in Olympia, recalling the enduring link between his life, his work, and the revival of the Olympic ideal. Parc La Grange thus remains a discreet yet profoundly symbolic place of remembrance.
