ADOLPHE CHERON STADIUM

The Stade Adolphe Chéron, located in Vitry-sur-Seine, hosted several editions of the French Women's Athletics Championships in 1929, 1933, and 1934. These competitions were part of the efforts of the Fédération des sociétés féminines sportives de France (FSFSF), led by Alice Milliat, to provide women with opportunities to participate in official athletics competitions and demonstrate their skills in a field largely dominated by men at the time.

The championships at the Stade Adolphe Chéron included a range of events such as sprinting, long jump, shot put, and relay, allowing female athletes to compete against each other in a nationally recognized setting. The stadium thus played an important role in the development of women's sport in France, providing a platform for competitions that helped legitimize the presence of women in athletics and attract media and public attention.

These events, supported by the FSFSF, were fundamental for equality in sport and for the emancipation of French sportswomen, strengthening the social and institutional acceptance of women in athletics competitions and inspiring other countries to organize similar competitions.
